Olney (Richard) House is built.

1855

Built for the lawyer, future U.S. attorney general and secretary of state, it is located at 56 Patten Street. The yard includes one of the first tennis courts in Boston. Olney sells the house to Andrew Peters in 1882 and moves to a the Back Bay in 1884. The house is renovated in 1921.
